Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Recruitment Officer to join our Human Resources team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing end-to-end recruitment activities to attract, assess, and onboard high-caliber talent across technical, engineering, operational, HSE, marine, drilling, and corporate functions within the oil and gas sector.
The successful candidate will support the organization’s workforce requirements by developing talent pipelines, managing recruitment processes, providing recruitment insights, and ensuring timely delivery of qualified candidates to meet business and project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition:
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition approval through onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.
Source qualified candidates through job boards, professional networks, recruitment agencies, employee referrals, and industry databases.
Build and maintain talent pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill technical positions.
Develop compelling job advertisements that attract top talent.
Screen applications and conduct competency-based interviews.
Coordinate technical assessments, interviews, medicals, reference checks, and background verification.
Recruitment Operations:
Maintain accurate recruitment records and applicant tracking systems.
Monitor recruitment metrics, including:
Time-to-Fill
Time-to-Hire
Offer Acceptance Rate
Cost-per-Hire
Talent Pool Management:
Develop and maintain an active database of qualified professionals.
Build succession pipelines for recurring project-based roles.
Engage passive candidates for future opportunities.
Reporting & Analytics:
Prepare and submit recruitment reports, dashboards, and analytics to support workforce planning and management decisions.
Track recruitment performance against agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Monitor approved vacancies and provide regular recruitment status updates to hiring managers and management.
Prepare recruitment pipeline reports highlighting candidate progress at each stage of the hiring process.
Maintain and update recruitment trackers to ensure accurate records of recruitment activities.
Generate vacancy status reports, including open, closed, pending, and critical positions.
Prepare interview outcome reports and recruitment recommendations following candidate assessments.
Compliance:
Ensure recruitment activities comply with the Nigerian Labour Act, company policies, equal employment opportunity principles, and client-specific recruitment standards.
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of candidate information.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Membership of CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or a relevant professional body is an added advantage.
3–5 years’ experience in recruitment within an EPC/Oil & Gas servicing environment.
Proven experience recruiting technical and non-technical professionals.
Strong understanding of project-based workforce recruitment, manpower planning, and workforce mobilization.
Knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law and HR best practices.
