We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Well Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Delivery Outcomes:

• Protect the ME from its biggest technical risk: accepting wells the fleet cannot safely drill.
• Drive the performance curve: days-vs-depth improving campaign over campaign.
• Make AFE-support estimates reliable enough for ME-18 to bank.

Functional / Operational Responsibilities:

• Basis of design, drilling/completion/intervention programs, casing/cement/mud design, BOP configuration and test regimes.
• Offset analysis and NPT trend integration; DWOP/CWOP facilitation; MOC ownership for program changes.
• Technical screen on every tender (W6); veto documented and escalatable only to the Board.
• End-of-well reports ≤ 15 days with benchmarking; engineering support to operations during execution.

Governance, Controls & Compliance:

• No spud without an approved program and closed DWOP actions.
• Well-control-critical MOCs require DW-01 co-approval.
• Program assumptions documented; deviations analyzed, never buried.

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities:

• Operator drilling/subsurface teams; ME-07 Subsurface for targets and pore pressure; rig supervision for executability reviews.
• ME-18 for AFE-support estimates; ME-16 for HSE input to programs.

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc. / B.Eng. Petroleum Engineering or related; M.Sc. an advantage.
• IWCF (engineer level) current; drilling engineering software competencies per toolkit.

Experience:

• 10+ years well engineering with programs drilled in the Niger Delta (swamp/land preferred); HPHT exposure an advantage (for screening, not acceptance).
• Track record of DWOP facilitation and end-of-well benchmarking.

Technical Skills & Systems:

• Casing and tubing design; torque & drag / hydraulics modelling; cement design; pore-pressure interpretation; AFE estimation; offset data analysis.
