Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Egbeda, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and rational use of medicines while delivering exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients.
• The role involves dispensing medications, providing clinical advice, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing inventory, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately review, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in accordance with legal and professional standards.
• Counsel patients on the safe use of medications, including dosage, administration, side effects, interactions, and storage.
• Verify prescription accuracy and resolve any medication-related issues with prescribers when necessary.
• Monitor patients for adverse drug reactions and provide appropriate pharmaceutical interventions.
• Maintain accurate patient medication records and ensure confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations, ethical standards, and organisational policies.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff where applicable.
• Manage medication inventory, including stock control, expiry monitoring, and procurement requests.
• Participate in medication therapy management and clinical decision-making.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programmes.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant pharmacy environment.
• Stay updated on developments in pharmaceutical practice through continuous professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Valid practising licence with the relevant Pharmacy Regulatory Authority (PCN).
• Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a hospital, community, or retail pharmacy (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, medication safety, and pharmaceutical regulations.
• Excellent communication and patient counselling skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to remain composed, exercise sound judgement, and make well-reasoned decisions in high-pressure or fast-paced clinical environments.
• Strong problem-solving, organisational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Salary
N250,000 - N300,000 per month.
