We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Valve Technician

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Permanent

Job Summary

• Target Background: Industrial valve maintenance, valve assembly, pressure testing, PSV, gate, globe, ball, check, butterfly, and control valves in oil & gas

Key Responsibilities

• Disassemble, inspect, repair, and assemble industrial valves.
• Conduct hydrostatic, pneumatic, and seat leakage testing.
• Replace seals, gaskets, packing, and trim.
• Record measurements and inspection results.
• Maintain workshop equipment and housekeeping.
• Support offshore/ onshore shutdowns when required.

Requirements
Person Specification:

• Qualifications: OND / HND / B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; training certification is an advantage. O'Level with relevant training & experience in maintenance & testing of valves.
• Personality: Safety conscious, disciplined, hands-on, detail-oriented, team player, willing to learn
• Experience: 3-7 years

Positive Indicators:

• Practical valve overhaul experience.
• Experience with pressure testing and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and manuals.
• Understanding of standards for testing of valves.
• Strong HSE culture.
• Offshore experience is an added advantage.

Negative Indicators:

• No practical workshop experience.
• Poor housekeeping or unsafe work practices.
• Inability to identify valve types / components.
• History of poor attendance or disciplinary issues.

Competencies Required:

• Mechanical aptitude.
• Valve assembly / disassembly.
• Use of appropriate tools & equipment.
• Blueprint reading.
• Problem solving.
• Good documentation.
• Teamwork.
• HSE awareness.

Non-Negotiable Criteria:

• Proven industrial valve maintenance experience
• Strong HSE attitude
• Ability to read and understand standards
• Competent in precision measuring and tubing construction
• Good communication and teamwork

Remuneration and Benefits

• Monthly Salary: N550,000.
