Job Title: Compliance & Risk Officer

Description

• As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Compliance & Risk Officer to join our Compliance & Risk team in Lagos, Nigeria.
• The successful candidate will support the Company’s Compliance & Risk Management function by ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, governance standards, and industry best practices across the Company’s operations.
• The role will also support compliance monitoring, IT control reviews, ISO management system activities, risk assessments, policy implementation, vendor compliance reviews, and audit coordination.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Company’s Compliance & Risk Management framework.
• Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, governance standards, and industry best practices.
• Conduct compliance monitoring activities and assist with IT General Controls (ITGC) reviews.
• Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO Management Systems, including ISO 27001 and ISO 22301 where applicable.
• Participate in enterprise and operational risk assessments, identifying potential risks and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and review of compliance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
• Conduct vendor compliance assessments and monitor third-party adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activities by preparing documentation, tracking audit findings, and supporting remediation efforts.
• Prepare compliance, risk, and governance reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote compliance awareness and strengthen risk management practices across the organization.
• Stay informed of emerging regulatory requirements, cybersecurity risks, and governance best practices relevant to the business.
• Support compliance and risk management projects and other related initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• Professional certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301 (Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor), CISA, CRISC, COBIT, CISM, Risk Management, Compliance, or related certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ relevant experience in Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Control, IT Audit, Information Security, Governance, or related functions.
• Experience within a Technology, Fintech, Consulting, Telecommunications, or Professional Services environment will be an added advantage.

Key Competencies:

• Sound knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGC).
• Good understanding of ISO 27001 and information security principles.
• Understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) concepts.
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks and audit processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent documentation, report writing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
