About the Role
We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Head of Finance to lead the Company's financial strategy, planning, governance, and performance management functions.
The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, providing strategic financial leadership that supports sustainable growth, enhances shareholder value, strengthens financial resilience, and enables informed executive decision-making.
The Head of Finance will act as a trusted adviser to Executive Management, partnering across the business to shape corporate strategy, optimize capital allocation, improve commercial performance, and drive operational excellence.
The role combines executive-level strategic leadership with strong financial stewardship, overseeing financial planning and analysis, treasury, trade finance, taxation, budgeting, statutory reporting, internal controls, enterprise risk management, and finance transformation.
Given the Company's international trading operations, the role requires extensive experience in international trade finance, cross-border financial operations, foreign exchange management, multi-currency treasury, and international market exposure to support both local and global business activities.
Lead the development and execution of the Company's financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives, long-term growth ambitions, and business priorities.
Serve as a strategic financial adviser to Executive Management by providing commercially sound recommendations on investments, expansion opportunities, partnerships, and major business initiatives.
Drive long-term value creation through disciplined financial planning, capital allocation, and performance management.
Support the execution of business transformation initiatives, including digitalization, operational efficiency, and international expansion.
Champion a culture of financial discipline and commercial accountability across the organization.
Financial Planning & Business Performance:
Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, long-range financial modelling, and scenario analysis.
Provide timely financial reporting, executive dashboards, performance analytics, and strategic recommendations to Executive Management.
Develop predictive financial models that support strategic decision-making and investment planning.
Monitor business performance against strategic objectives and recommend corrective actions to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
Drive continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and financial planning processes.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering:
Partner with commercial, operations, and business development teams to improve profitability and business performance.
Provide financial leadership on pricing strategies, commercial negotiations, and revenue optimization initiatives.
Evaluate profitability across customers, products, business units, projects, and markets to support informed commercial decisions.
Lead financial evaluations of new business opportunities, strategic investments, and major commercial initiatives.
Embed financial discipline into commercial operations to maximize sustainable profitability.
Treasury, Capital Strategy & Working Capital Management:
Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, liquidity management, and funding strategies.
Optimize the Company's capital structure and evaluate financing alternatives that support strategic growth.
Lead working capital optimization through effective management of receivables, payables, inventory, liquidity, and cash conversion cycles.
Manage banking facilities, debt obligations, and financing arrangements while ensuring sufficient liquidity for business operations.
Develop funding strategies that support both local and international business activities.
International Trade Finance & Global Financial Operations:
Lead the Company's international trade finance activities, including Letters of Credit (LCs), bank guarantees, documentary collections, export and import financing, supplier financing, and structured trade finance solutions.
Oversee cross-border financial transactions, foreign exchange exposure, international payments, and multi-currency cash management.
Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, sanctions requirements, and cross-border financial reporting obligations.
Provide financial leadership to support international market expansion and global business operations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international financial institutions, development finance institutions, and strategic financial partners.
Enterprise Risk Management & Financial Governance:
Lead the Company's enterprise-wide financial risk management framework covering:
Foreign exchange risk
Liquidity and funding risk
Credit and counterparty risk
Commodity price exposure (where applicable)
Regulatory and compliance risk
Financial control risk
Ensure risk management frameworks support business growth while safeguarding financial resilience.
Strengthen internal control systems and governance frameworks to protect Company assets and ensure accountability.
Promote best practices in corporate governance, financial compliance, and ethical business conduct.
Financial Stewardship & Compliance:
Ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory standards.
Oversee statutory reporting, taxation, audits, and regulatory compliance across all jurisdictions where the Company operates.
Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting quality, governance, and compliance processes.
Maintain strong relationships with auditors, regulators, tax authorities, and professional advisers.
Corporate Strategy & Growth Support:
Provide financial leadership for strategic growth initiatives, including market expansion, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and major capital investments.
Conduct financial and commercial due diligence for strategic transactions.
Evaluate investment opportunities using robust financial modelling, valuation techniques, and risk assessment frameworks.
Support Executive Management in identifying opportunities that enhance long-term enterprise value.
Finance Transformation & Digital Enablement:
Lead the modernization of the finance function through automation, digital technologies, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled reporting.
Improve finance productivity through process optimization and technology adoption.
Build data-driven decision-support capabilities that strengthen strategic planning and executive decision-making.
Champion continuous improvement across all finance processes and systems.
Stakeholder Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with Executive Management, financial institutions, investors, regulators, auditors, development finance institutions, and strategic partners.
Position the Finance function as a trusted strategic partner that provides insight, transparency, and commercial leadership.
Support financing discussions and negotiations with banking partners and other capital providers.
Represent Finance in executive-level discussions and major strategic initiatives.
Leadership & Organizational Development:
Build and lead a high-performing Finance function that supports the Company's long-term strategic objectives.
Develop future finance leaders through coaching, mentoring, succession planning, and capability development.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent accounting certification is required.
MBA or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 15 years' progressive finance experience, with at least 7 years in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within the energy, oil & gas, logistics, trading, maritime, commodities, or related sectors.
Demonstrated experience in international trade finance, including Letters of Credit, bank guarantees, import/export financing, foreign exchange management, and cross-border financial operations.
Proven experience supporting international commercial transactions, multi-jurisdictional financial management, and global business operations.
Strong experience managing relationships with local and international banks, development finance institutions, investors, and financial partners.
Proven track record in financial strategy, treasury management, corporate finance, taxation, financial modelling, enterprise risk management, governance, and business partnering.
Experience leading finance transformation, ERP implementation, digital finance initiatives, automation, and organizational change.
