Job Title: Nursery / Mathematics Teacher

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• The Nursery / Mathematics Teacher is responsible for providing quality instruction to young learners by creating a safe, engaging, and stimulating learning environment.
• The teacher nurtures children's academic, social, emotional, and physical development while introducing age-appropriate mathematics concepts through interactive and practical teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging nursery and mathematics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
• Create a safe, caring, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Teach basic numeracy, counting, shapes, patterns, measurement, and problem-solving skills.
• Use songs, games, stories, manipulatives, and other creative methods to teach mathematical concepts.
• Assess and monitor pupils' progress and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, and classroom activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour and support children's social and emotional development.
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding pupils' progress.
• Supervise pupils during classroom, playground, and school activities.
• Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, and school events.
• Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all pupils.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or NCE in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or licence (where applicable).
• Experience teaching nursery or primary pupils is an added advantage.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to use child-centred and activity-based teaching methods.

Salary
N70,000 - N100,000 per month.
