Job Title: Electrical Specialist
Location: Lagos (with regular offfshore visits)
Job Role Description
Responsible for serving as subject matter expert for specific processes and procedures, technical matters, and electrical equipment.
Are able to provide support and / or guidance for complex Electrical troubleshooting, may participate in constructability and maintenance design reviews and may assist engineering for routine maintenance as well as turnaround, or new project support.
Should have a sound understanding of safety, health, and environmental requirements (SHE) as they pertain to electrical equipment. Demonstrates very strong maintenance skills for this equipment type.
Are able to influence without authority and interact effectively across business lines.
Demonstrates good communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups; able to network effectively within organizations. Serves as a mentor and provides expertise across the broader organization.
What will you do?
Implements maintenance design philosophies for Electrical equipment
Provides technical support and coordination across business lines
Supports coordination of cost management and productivity improvement plans
Provides troubleshooting complex issues and operations support
Provides technical support and input to training development and delivery
Shares Best Practices and provides feedback
Develops strong personal expertise, shares knowledge with others
Serves as a mentor and provides expertise across the broader organization
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of a Higher National Diploma in Electrical, City and Guilds level 4 in Electrical; or equivalent qualifications in an oil and gas industry specific apprenticeship program.
A BSc in engineering or related sciences without a HND diploma is acceptable IF there is already established and verifiable working experience as an electrical technician in the oil and gas industry for at least 5 years. Note however that this is strictly a technician role.
Minimum 5 years relevant electrical technician work experience.
Must be a Nigerian citizen, must have completed Youth Service with NYSC discharge certificate or exemption letter.
Prefered Qualifications:

Good knowledge of Instrumentation / Mechanical and Hands-On Skills: basic understanding and ability to perform minor repairs, routine maintenance, and adjustments on equipment; ability to read and interpret transmitters, sensors, gauges, and control valves; familiarity with ESD, Fire & Gas (F&G) systems, and their role in process safety
Versatile with basic Work Management Practices, and CMMS (SAP) to raise notifications, manage workorders, and search for materials
Good understanding and Interpretation of Electrical, Instrumentation and Control logic Diagrams. Specific technical knowledge on HV & LV power distribution and control networks, HV & LV motor drives and Alternators, Inverters, high voltage cells, variable speed units, Lighting networks, switchgear, Electrical Breakers, Electrical Protection devices, etc
Good attention to Detail. Ability to observe equipment performance and detect abnormalities and understanding what next to do; maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports; ability to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Should understand what constitutes a hazard and control/mitigation.
