Job Summary
We are seeking a talented, creative, and experienced Chef to join our team in Lagos.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about culinary excellence and skilled in preparing a wide variety of both Nigerian local delicacies and intercontinental dishes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning menus, preparing high-quality meals, maintaining exceptional kitchen hygiene standards, and ensuring an outstanding dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present a wide range of Nigerian and intercontinental meals to a consistently high standard.
Develop creative menus that cater to diverse tastes, dietary requirements, and seasonal ingredients.
Ensure all meals are prepared in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of the kitchen in compliance with food safety regulations.
Monitor food quality, freshness, and proper storage of ingredients.
Manage kitchen inventory and ensure timely procurement of food supplies.
Minimize food waste through effective stock control and portion management.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen assistants and other support staff where applicable.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report faults promptly.
Comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times.
Introduce new recipes and menu ideas that enhance customer satisfaction.
Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all meals.
Work collaboratively with management to meet operational and customer service objectives.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field (professional culinary training is an added advantage).
Minimum of 3 years' proven experience as a Chef in a reputable restaurant, hotel, hospitality establishment, or private residence.
Formal culinary certifications will be an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of Nigerian and intercontinental cuisine.
Excellent culinary, baking, grilling, and food presentation skills.
Creativity in menu planning and recipe development.
Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and consistency.
Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.

Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to prepare a variety of Nigerian dishes such as soups, rice dishes, swallows, grills, seafood, and traditional specialties.
Proven experience preparing intercontinental cuisine, including continental, Italian, Asian, and other international dishes.
Knowledge of meal planning for individuals, families, restaurants, or corporate events.
Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and extended hours when required.
High level of professionalism, reliability, and personal hygiene.
