Job Description
The HR Business Partner – Commercial & Supply Chain will partner with commercial and supply chain leaders in an FMCG environment to translate business priorities into effective people plans.
The role will support sales growth, route-to-market execution, customer service, demand fulfilment, logistics, warehousing, planning and distribution performance through proactive workforce planning, talent acquisition support, capability building, performance management, employee engagement, HR compliance and change management.
The role will also provide practical HR advice, data-led insights and timely execution of people processes across corporate, field and operational teams.
Responsibilities
Strategic HR Business Partnering:
Serve as a trusted HR advisor to Commercial and Supply Chain leadership teams, using business and people insights to improve organisation effectiveness and decision-making.
Translate commercial priorities, route-to-market plans, customer service goals and supply chain objectives into practical HR initiatives and workforce plans.
Support organisation design, role clarity, succession planning and capability planning for sales, key account, distribution, logistics, warehousing, planning and procurement teams.
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:
Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, assess and onboard high-quality FMCG talent across sales, trade marketing, key accounts, demand planning, logistics, procurement, warehouse operations and supply chain roles.
Monitor manpower plans, critical vacancies, replacement needs and hiring turnaround time to ensure business continuity across commercial and operational teams.
Support seamless onboarding, induction and deployment of new hires, graduate trainees and internal moves into field, customer-facing and supply chain operations.
HR Operations, Compliance & Process Excellence:
Partner with HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits, Payroll and shared services teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of onboarding, confirmations, transfers, exits, documentation, payroll inputs and HR system updates.
Ensure adherence to company policies, labour requirements, internal controls and HR governance standards across assigned locations and functions.
Simplify HR processes, improve data quality and strengthen employee self-service and manager accountability where applicable.
Change Management & Business Transformation:
Support restructuring, operating model changes, route-to-market redesign, distribution expansion, technology adoption and supply chain transformation initiatives.
Prepare leaders and employees for change through stakeholder engagement, communication, capability support and issue resolution.
Track people risks and develop mitigation plans for business-critical changes.
Performance & Capability Development:
Drive performance management discipline, including goal setting, quality reviews, calibration support, feedback culture and timely closure of appraisal activities.
Identify capability gaps in sales execution, customer management, people leadership, planning, logistics and operational discipline, and coordinate relevant development interventions.
Partner with leaders to build succession pipelines and development plans for critical roles in the Commercial and Supply Chain department.
Employee Relations & Capability Development:
Provide timely advisory support on employee relations, policy interpretation, workplace conduct, grievance handling and conflict resolution.
Drive engagement activities, pulse checks and action planning to improve employee experience, retention and productivity across office, field and operational teams.
Champion company values, ethical conduct, inclusion, leadership accountability and a strong performance culture across assigned business areas.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university; specialisation in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or a related field is an advantage.
Professional certification such as CIPM, SHRM, HRCI or equivalent is an added advantage.
6–10 years’ progressive HR experience, with strong HR business partnering exposure in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, distribution, logistics or a fast-paced commercial environment.
Practical experience supporting commercial, field sales, route-to-market, logistics, warehousing, planning or supply chain teams.
Strong knowledge of performance management, talent planning, employee relations, capability development, change management and HR operations.
Ability to travel to business locations, depots, warehouses or field operations as required.
