Job Title: Home Appliance (HA) Technician

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused, and results-oriented Home Appliance (HA) Technician to provide high-quality installation, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair services for a wide range of home appliances.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting product faults, carrying out repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining accurate service documentation.
The HA Technician will play a key role in improving product reliability, minimizing turnaround time, and enhancing customer satisfaction while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of home appliances, including refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, microwaves, cookers, ovens, air conditioners, and other domestic appliances.
Perform product installations, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and routine servicing in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
Conduct accurate fault diagnosis using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and testing equipment.
Replace defective components and ensure repairs are completed to the required quality standards.
Perform functional and safety tests after repairs to verify equipment performance before customer handover.
Respond promptly to service requests while ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
Maintain accurate service records, repair reports, warranty documentation, and parts usage records.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and accountability of spare parts, tools, and service equipment.
Educate customers on the proper use, maintenance, and care of appliances to reduce repeat faults.
Escalate complex technical issues that require advanced support or manufacturer intervention.
Support warranty claim verification by documenting repair activities and defective components.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment while complying with company health and safety policies.
Collaborate with the Service Centre, Spare Parts, Customer Service, and Technical Support teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Keep up to date with new products, technologies, technical bulletins, and repair procedures through continuous training.
Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements during all service activities.
Provide timely feedback to management on recurring product issues and customer concerns to support continuous improvement.
Key Requirements
OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Technical Education, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing home appliances.
Strong knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems used in domestic appliances.
Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation.
Experience using diagnostic tools, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other technical testing equipment.
Good understanding of refrigeration systems, compressors, motors, control boards, and inverter technologies is an added advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple service assignments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using service management or ERP systems is an added advantage.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet service turnaround time targets.
Professional certifications in refrigeration, HVAC, electrical installation, or appliance repair will be an added advantage.
