Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Manager to lead our production operations, establish world-class manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvement across the factory.

The Production Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for the entire manufacturing process of Dezzy Fountain Water. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating and supervising all production activities to ensure products are manufactured safely, efficiently, cost-effectively and in compliance with NAFDAC, SON, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and company quality standards.
The role requires a hands-on leader capable of establishing production systems, managing people, ensuring equipment availability, reducing wastage, improving productivity and supporting the company's business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Operations:
Plan and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
Ensure uninterrupted production of bottled and sachet water.
Develop production schedules based on customer demand.
Monitor production output and ensure production targets are achieved.
Coordinate all production shifts for maximum efficiency.
Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery and materials.
Minimize production downtime and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production process.
Plant Management:
Oversee the daily operations of the entire production facility.
Ensure all production equipment operates at optimum efficiency.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Monitor utility systems including water treatment, generators, compressors and production machinery.
Recommend equipment upgrades and replacement where necessary.
Ensure proper housekeeping throughout the factory.
Quality Management:
Ensure all products meet NAFDAC, SON and company quality standards.
Work closely with the Quality Control Officer to maintain product quality.
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Investigate quality complaints and implement corrective actions.
Monitor production processes to reduce product defects and wastage.
Ensure complete product traceability through proper documentation.
People Management:
Supervise and develop production employees.
Allocate duties and monitor employee performance.
Coach and mentor machine operators and production staff.
Conduct regular toolbox meetings and staff briefings.
Identify training needs and recommend capacity-building programmes.
Foster teamwork, discipline and accountability.
Inventory & Materials Management:
Ensure availability of production materials.
Coordinate with procurement and stores to prevent stock-outs.
Monitor raw material consumption.
Reduce wastage of PET preforms, caps, labels, packaging materials and chemicals.
Monitor inventory usage against production output.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Promote a strong safety culture within the factory.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine safety inspections.
Ensure employees properly use PPE.
Investigate accidents and implement preventive measures.
Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic production environment.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with NAFDAC regulations.
Ensure adherence to SON specifications.
Maintain proper production records and documentation.
Support regulatory inspections and audits.
Ensure all statutory production records are maintained.
Reporting:
Prepare periodic reports on:
Production output
Equipment performance
Machine downtime
Product quality
Material utilization
Production costs
Staff productivity
Maintenance activities
Safety incidents
Operational improvements
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured using indicators including:
Daily production target achievement
Plant efficiency
Equipment uptime
Machine downtime
Production cost per unit
Product rejection rate
Customer complaints relating to quality
Material wastage percentage
Labour productivity
Compliance audit results
Accident frequency rate
Staff attendance and discipline
Production reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Food Science, Industrial Chemistry, Production Engineering or related discipline.
Professional certifications in Production Management, Quality Management or Health & Safety will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years' experience in manufacturing.
At least 1years in a supervisory or management position.
Experience in bottled water, sachet water, beverage, food processing or FMCG manufacturing is highly preferred.
Experience working in a startup manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
