Job Title: Legal Officer

Description

• Our client is seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical, and proactive Legal Officer to support their corporate, regulatory, and commercial law functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and proofread corporate agreements, NDAs, service contracts, employment agreements, and other legal documentation.
• Legal Administration & Governance: Maintain corporate records, statutory registers, legal filings, and manage execution and repository systems for all contracts.
• Regulatory & Compliance Support: Assist with licensing applications, regulatory filings, and ongoing correspondence with regulatory bodies; monitor legal obligations and renewal timelines.
• Legal Research & Advisory: Conduct targeted research on corporate, fintech, payments, employment, and commercial law trends and updates.
• Dispute & External Stakeholder Management: Assist with dispute resolution, debt recovery, and litigation support while liaising with external solicitors and government agencies when required.
• General Legal Support: Execute legal and administrative tasks as assigned by the Head of Legal or Executive Management.

Key Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree (LL.B) in Law from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of relevant legal experience within a reputable law firm, corporate legal department, fintech, or financial institution.
• Legal Knowledge: Sound understanding of Nigerian corporate, commercial, employment, and fintech/payments law.
• Skills: Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical capabilities, paired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ethics & Tech: High standard of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, alongside proficiency in standard Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Nigerian Bar Qualification (BL) is a strong advantage.
• Direct experience supporting legal and regulatory compliance within the financial services or fintech sector.

Salary
N250,000 - N400,000 monthly.
