Job Title: Unit Head – Aviation, Maritime & Blue Economy Finance

Location: Lagos

Description

• To provide sector-specific expertise and strategic leadership in the development, implementation and execution of Wema Bank's Aviation, Maritime & Blue Economy Banking strategy.
• The Unit Head shall lead, guide and drive the origination, structuring, execution and management of banking relationships and sector-specific transactions across the aviation, maritime and blue economy value chains while positioning Wema Bank as the preferred financial partner for airlines, airport operators, shipping companies, port operators, marine logistics providers, offshore service companies, ship owners, fisheries, aquaculture enterprises, maritime infrastructure developers, export businesses, regulators and investors.

Job Details

• Deep understanding of Aviation Finance, Maritime Finance, Marine Logistics, Port Operations, Offshore Services, Fisheries, and Blue Economy ecosystems.
• Strong credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
• Expertise in structuring complex lending and trade finance transactions.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements governing aviation and maritime industries.
• Strong risk identification, assessment, and mitigation capabilities.
• Product development and sector-based solution design.
• Market intelligence and industry research capabilities.
• Strategic planning and execution.

Requirements

• 10-15 years' banking experience, with significant exposure to Corporate Banking, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Energy Finance, or Sector Banking.
• At least 5 years in a leadership or team management role.
• Proven experience managing Aviation, Maritime, Infrastructure, Logistics, Transportation, or Blue Economy portfolios.
• Strong experience in credit structuring, relationship management, business development, and transaction execution.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving revenue and portfolio growth targets.
