Job Title: ACS Operations Coordinator (P2, 2nd Shift)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Reporting to ACS Operations Supervisor

Job Summary

• The job holder is primarily accountable for the operational aspects ACS within the network flight and secondarily supporting commercial aspects in collaboration with other ACS team.
• The objective to maximise utilisation of DHL owned, wet leased aircraft to assist with lowering unit cost and maximising profitability of the operation.
• The job holder will supervise and coordinate export operation and play a key role in ensuring profitability of the business.
• Will also assist with customer requests, preparing and providing rate quotes, booking confirmation, ensuring continuous improvement processes to increase efficiencies and reduce waste and improve performance
• Environmental awareness of business opportunities in West Africa as well as political and regional developments that might have an impact on DHL ACS operations.
• The job holder must be able to identify them and recommend operational action plan to react accordingly.
• Achieve revenue budgets.
• Achieve continuous performance improvement to our customers and use interpersonal skills to create and sustain effective relationships with business partners and with other DHL entities, Global Forwarding and Express, which promote DHL Aviation as a fully contributing member of the group
• Assist with the development and ongoing operational support for DHL Network flight. Develop processes to integrate high speed delivery solution for ACS freight services.
• Ensure smooth movement of cargo within the network by making sure that data are accurately and timely updated. Assist with ensuring overall objectives of high level of customer service and profitability are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise and communicate with existing ACS clients to provide reliable services, ensuring their needs and expectation are met, thus working towards achieving the departmental and regional target.
• Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of customers’ current and anticipated business practise with process.
• Recommend improvement and cost saving solution.
• Ensure data related to shipment are accurately and timely updated in TGV, CMS and other relevant application used by ACS team.
• Develop operational checklists to support execution of network flight to ensure no operational issues are overlooked
• Maintain up to date database of contacts both operational and customer ( internal / external )
• Accumulate, comprehend and be fully aware of all relevant sales and marketing information in order to quickly and effectively make appropriate decisions to achieve the commercial objectives of the department, without reference if appropriate
• Efficient communication of information to warehouse, load control, NCC and any other supporting staff.
• Constantly evaluate the ACS operation performance and identify solutions to problems that restrict performance improvement
• Liaise with Aviation Operations and Commercial Managers to identify opportunities with local and key account customers to grow existing business to propose solutions that to maximise revenue
• General coordination of ACS HUB activities by giving instruction and support to 3rd party staff on what is expected of them daily.
• Generate daily shipment on-hold list and accept shipment from interline partners.
• Local freight forwarders and direct customers for reservation and booking queries.
• Handling agent for build up/ break down of freight and other handling related activity.
• Third party agencies and Suppliers for operational support Interline partners
• Commercial and Operational Managers to ensure operational, financial and administrative functions are completed.
• ACS personnel throughout the network to ensure operational functions are completed.
• NCG, Ramp team, HUB Operation team and  3rd party staff in LOS HUB, to ensure operational details are fully covered in regards to network and charter flight.
• DHL Express, Global forwarding, and Aviation colleagues for day to day operational activities
• Negotiation with GSA’s, cargo agent, internal and external suppliers or contacts
• Data entry into the system to support management of customers’ shipment activity.
• Daily discussions with AVI Commercial / Operations on opportunities, planning and problems by function

Minimum Requirements

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor’s Degree in or Equivalent
• Influencing, counselling, numeric, analysis skills, motivational skills and good leadership

Experience & Knowledge:

• At least 2 years airline and/or cargo forwarding/shipping experience supplemented by planning, producing reports and presentations exposure
