Job Title: Technical Assistant to the Managing Director

Job Summary
The Technical Assistant to the Managing Partner provides high-level technical, administrative and coordination support to the Managing Partner, enabling effective oversight of Gosslink Engineering Limited’s electrical, power distribution and infrastructure projects.
The role acts as a bridge between the MD’s office and project/site teams — tracking deliverables, preparing technical reports and briefs, coordinating meetings, and following up on action points to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the Company’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
Review project drawings, technical specifications, BoQs and engineering reports, and prepare clear summaries and briefs for the MD (Projects).
Support the Managing Partner in monitoring project progress against timelines, budgets and technical/quality standards.
Conduct periodic site visits to verify progress, quality of work and compliance with safety and engineering standards, and report findings.
Assist in reviewing contractor/vendor technical submissions, proposals and variation requests.
Provide research and technical input on power distribution infrastructure, prepayment/maximum demand metering and related engineering solutions.
Coordination & Administrative Support:
Coordinate and follow up on action points arising from project meetings chaired by the MD (Projects).
Schedule and organize project review meetings, site inspections and technical presentations, preparing agendas and minutes.
Serve as liaison between the Managing Partner and project managers, site engineers, procurement and other departments.
Track correspondence, approvals and documentation relating to ongoing projects, ensuring nothing is delayed in the Managing Partner office.
Prepare presentations, status reports and dashboards summarizing project performance for management and client meetings.
Reporting & Documentation:
Maintain an organized filing system (physical and electronic) for project files, contracts, drawings and correspondence.
Compile weekly/monthly project status reports and escalate risks, delays or issues requiring the Managing Partner attention.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc/B.Eng/HND) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3-5 years’ relevant experience in an electrical engineering, power/energy infrastructure or project environment.
Experience providing direct support to senior management or executives is an advantage.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Sound understanding of electrical engineering and power distribution infrastructure concepts.
Strong technical writing and report-preparation skills.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and, ideally, project management or AutoCAD software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise across all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
High level of discretion, integrity and confidentiality, consistent with the Company’s Code of Confidentiality.
Willingness to travel to project/site locations as required.
