Federal Government Set To Recruit Massively Into The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)

Posted on Fri 11th Jan, 2013 - hotnigerianjobs.com --- (151 comments)

There are indications that the Federal Government is set to recruit massively into the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in order to meet local and international security challenges facing the country.

This is even as the Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro made public, plans to seek permission for additional hands into the Corps from the presidency.  A move, which he said was geared towards deepening the operational services of the Corps, who have demonstrated absolute commitment and determination to bring to an end the insurgency that has bedeviled the country in recent times.

Comrade Moro who expressed satisfaction at the achievements of the NSCDC , at the just concluded Civil Defence Officers Summit in  Sauka , Abuja,  said the move, was a quick response to the recognition of the services of the Corps in averting security challenges in different parts of the country in 2012 .

The minister, who said that foreign bodies expected complete elimination of insecurity in the country, noted that internal security will be adequately handled by the Corps,

Why are you putting it on air now after the candidates might have been selected based on godfatherism and corruption which have filled the entire Nigerian system. Applicants please call it formality. God wil provide.

My problem with politicians like the minister of interior, the senators and even everybody from the presidency is that, corporate greed & corruption have become a tradition & as a way of life. You will agree with me that some of these people started having the taste of the so-called national cake since the late 60's & early 70's when things were relatively easier, they got jobs very easy & without stress. That was the kind of society the founding fathers of this country Nigeria built. Now, after that generation what has successive generation done? They 've amassed so much wealth for themselves & their children over decades & therefore institutionalised greed & corruption in the system. The have confined graduates from humble background to the state of social exclusion. It extremely difficult if not impossible to get a job these days without connection. This is appalling & disgusting actually. Nowadays, it seem it's only through the power members of the national assemblies such as senate president & so on that one can get a job & if you don't know anybody, you are definitely on your own. My question now is this, did people like David Mark got into the military by recommendation of Nnandi Azikwe or Awolowo? Certainly not, I believe strongly that determination, zeal, desire performance took him there. Nowadays does all these count when one desires to join the military? Every has changed for worst. I really do not understand the kind of future we as a people are creating for the generation unborn. Certainly, posterity will not forgive us if the trend is not held in check. It will take a great & incorruptible leader to reverse the trend because the president can not claim ignorance to activities of his cabinet members who are actively involved in employment racketeering in the various agencies & parastatals of government.

Until corruption is fought & brought to a standstill and war against indiscipline & corruption reintroduced, we are stuck were we are. The minister just put the news in the media. I believe he must have gotten the number of people he want to employ from his Idoma tribe sufficient enough before letting anybody know his intention. I bet you by the time he through the exercise, you find glaring imbalance in allocation of slots to other states of the federation and nobody cares. Shame on the present government!!

Folks dont preempt people' intentions of writing jargons. It is the sense of the jargons weneed as against dexterity of composition. Besides for the most part writing jargons is not a true test of one's literal ability.

I just hope the recruitment exercise will not be like that of immigration that was done codedly by the so called controller general and Minister of interior. We now have a lot of graduate of criminology and security studies who be fit for the job.Favouritism and nepostism is another factor that will should get rid in our system,so that the right and qualify people can be rightly placed.

It's a kudos to the Federal Government of Nigeria for allowing prospective candidates to now apply for most of these jobs online.. Though the issue of God-fatherism cannot be totally eradicated from the system at once, there are hope for those who do not have God-fathers to still have equal opportunity of applying these numerous jobs.. There is this saying in Nigeria context that "the rich are getting richer while the poor are getting poorer" , please look at the plight of the poor (masses) and carry out this noble exercise base on merit and with fear of God... As you provide for the needy, so shall God almighty open doors of progress for you as an individual, organization, and as nation.. May God bless our country Nigeria, AMEN....
