We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Job Role Purpose
- The Instructional Design Specialist will support the course design and learning development process of the Institute.
- The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner that will provide the desired results.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of knowledge
- Work with instructors and tailor training delivery to meet target audience’s training needs
- Identify and clearly state instructional end goals and assist instructors to create content that matches these goals.
- Conduct instructional research and analysis on various learning programmes and report findings for possible adoption and implementation
- Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods to design instructional materials and methods for the Institute
- Work with instructors to develop and supervise exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
- Collaborate with instructors to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc) to enhance the learning process
- Analyze and agree on criteria that will be used by instructors to evaluate learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments.
Qualifications and Requirements
- B.Sc or MA in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education or similar
- Three years’ experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
- Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
- Lesson and curriculum planning skills
- Ability to develop instructional texts/materials.
Key Skills/Competencies:
- Ability to utilize MS office tools
- Ability to conduct research online
- Ability to analyze and integrate evolving higher education trends in instructional design and educational technology.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work while balancing priorities and managing deadlines
- Highly organized.
