Instructional Design Specialist at Dexterous Applied Training Institute (DATI)

Dexterous Applied Training Institute (DATI) is an industry certified Training and Consultancy Institute, established to support Governmental Agencies, Organizations, Host Communities and their people within the Oil& Gas, Manufacturing, Production, Banking, Energy, Hospitality and Educational industries. With a great burden of closing the skill-gap that exist in the Nigerian Industry and transferring of technology to our great country.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Instructional Design Specialist

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Role Purpose

• The Instructional Design Specialist will support the course design and learning development process of the Institute.
• The goal is to facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner that will provide the desired results.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer of knowledge
• Work with instructors and tailor training delivery to meet target audience’s training needs
• Identify and clearly state instructional end goals and assist instructors to create content that matches these goals.
• Conduct instructional research and analysis on various learning programmes and report findings for possible adoption and implementation
• Apply tested instructional design theories, practice and methods to design instructional materials and methods for the Institute
• Work with instructors to develop and supervise exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
• Collaborate with instructors to create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc) to enhance the learning process
• Analyze and agree on criteria that will be used by instructors to evaluate learner’s performance and develop assessment instruments.
  

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Sc or MA in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Education or similar
• Three years’ experience in instructional design and with instructional technology
• Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
• Lesson and curriculum planning skills
• Ability to develop instructional texts/materials.

Key Skills/Competencies:

• Ability to utilize MS office tools
• Ability to conduct research online
• Ability to analyze and integrate evolving higher education trends in instructional design and educational technology.
• Excellent communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work while balancing priorities and managing deadlines
• Highly organized.
