Job Title: Head FBO (Fixed Base Operator)
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- The overall purpose is to deliver safe, efficient and timely service to our clients by utilizing all available resources. FBO Manager oversee all aspects of the FBO including: line operations, fuel sales, new business development, customer retention, quality control, human resources, and environmental and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a close contact with all FBO clients to ensure that the service meets and exceeds the clients requirements;
- Responsible for the safety of visitors and staff of the FBO and safety on the ramp;
- Identify inventory of required FBO equipment and management of procurement process;
- Responsible for financial management of the FBO. Budgeting, forecasting and expense management.
- Conduct analysis to include pricing, selling points and product offerings;
- Produces statistical analysis for presentation to the senior management i.e. monthly report including financial review, trends.
- Introduce relevant FBO systems and management tools/software;
- Supervise FBO's personnel and make sure they provide exemplary level of service to clients, ensure the staff is motivated and disciplined;
- Keep in close contact with Sales and Marketing unit with respect to clients requirements;
- To keep up to date with all industry and business development
- Establish solid business relations with vendors of services;
- Represent the FBO both externally and internally when and as required;
- Ensure that all FBO documentation is in order and kept up to date;
- Manage and operate the Corporate Aviation FBO including VIP lounge and crew rest facilities.
- Provide overall supervision of all FBO related ramp and terminal activity, enforcing security procedures
- Ensure safe maneuvering of aircraft on the apron through staff training, operating instructions, manpower planning and the management of a disciplined approach to all aircraft and equipment movements which are critical on the restricted area of the ramp.
- Ensure effective communication at all levels both internally and externally on all matters relating to the arrival and departure of corporate aircraft
- Audits to ensure safe and efficient departmental procedures and practices, ensuring all documentation is kept up to date
- Implement operational procedures and airside safety policies for handling corporate aircraft
- Liaise closely with the Sales Unit with respect to customer requirements and concerns
- Manage invoicing, collection and safeguarding of cash and the completion of cash reports
- Responsibility for FBO staff welfare and annual performance assessment of FBO staff
- Represent the FBO at meetings, both interdepartmental and with external agencies.
Skills and Requirements
- Relevant degree in related field
- 8+ years' experience in Ground Operations
- Experience in the Aviation Industry;
- Aviation related professional background (Aviation/Aircraft knowledge is essential) is essential;
- Must have understanding of aviation markets, pricing strategies, financial management; Project management/consultancy experience is beneficial;
- Utilize and actively demonstrate creativity and flexibility whilst solving customers' problems;
- Professional integrity and total commitment to outstanding customer service;
- Strong geographical knowledge;
- Proven (high) social network within the industry, well-established contacts within the industry;
- Ability to identify business opportunities and trends and capitalize on them.
- Excellent communication skills with a wide range of audiences;
- Competencies of leadership, entrepreneurship, negotiation, influence, operational decision making and customer orientation.
