Five Collective Cafe - We are a cafe and food service collective offering a variety of menus including delicious baked goods, fresh quick eats, special meals and traditional Nigerian dishes to a discerning and diverse clientele. Our main operations take place in our kitchen in lovely Katampe Extension, and consist of servicing a cosy hillside outdoor cafe, citywide meal deliveries as well as top notch event and contract catering.

Job Description

  • We’re looking for a capable, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our team as cafe manager.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage, but is not required.

Responsibilities
Your Responsibilities will include, (but may not be limited to):

  • Supervising all kitchen operations including food preparation and storage and ensuring quality control for all food served.,
  • Supervising sanitation of kitchen and dining areas, ensuring all food safety standards and company policies and procedures are being kept.
  • Taking and coordinating food orders, liaising with logistics services and other relevant partners to ensure customers receive quality meals and excellent customer service always.
  • Managing kitchen staff- scheduling shifts,mediating, and ensuring adherence to all company policies.
  • Record keeping - of daily, weekly and monthly sales, stock and expenses, and any other reports as required.
  • Projecting future needs for goods, kitchen supplies, and cleaning products; and ordering accordingly.
  • Assisting in hiring and training new employees and providing ongoing training for all staff.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; responding to customer complaints and suggestions tactfully and professionally.
  • Researching and developing creative ways to improve sales, customer satisfaction and business operations
  • Analysing staff evaluations and feedback to improve the customer’s experience and smooth running of the business.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of social media profiles - as required.

Requirements
We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Candidates should possess an FSLC qualification.
  • Resourceful: This job will require that you take initiative, be innovative and are capable of independent thinking
  • Adequately technologically savvy: This job will require you to be reasonably familiar with some Microsoft Office and G Suite packages as well as social media platforms like Instagram.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic: This role will require you to motivate and encourage your team and maintain a healthy and energetic workplace. It will also require you to engage with customers in a lively and engaging manner, boosting customer loyalty and satisfaction. You will need to be excited about good food, quality service and standards and positive energy!
  • Well-spoken: This job will require excellent verbal communication skills
  • Creative and Innovative: This job will require you to think up and constantly engage with smarter ways of operating and solving problems in line with the brand.
  • Experienced and teachable: Experience working in, or leading a team is important and preferable. So is some experience working in a (professional) kitchen setting. Demonstrable transferable skills welcome. Training will be provided.
  • Available to work during opening hours including weekends and holidays.
