Job Description

  • Implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future business requirements
  • Troubleshooting malfunctions on network components (Avaya system, Campus intelligent LAN, routers & switches wireless, and voice systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
  • Setup, configure and support switching, wireless networks, routing, and multi-server environments.
  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives
  • Responding to enquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, external vendors etc. to provide technical assistance and support.
  • Implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated reports
  • Prepare reports, and other documentation for Network Services Support and associated efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze network performance across the organization’s Voice (Avaya), intelligent LANs, WANs, and wireless deployments.
  • Monitor Network capacity to determine its effect on performance and recommend enhancements to meet new or changing network demands.
  • Identify and remedy network performance bottlenecks.
  • Install and configure all network hardware and equipment, including Avaya system, routers, switches etc.
  • Inspect, maintain, and where necessary replace network cabling, voice/data jacks, and other network-related equipment.
  • Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure.
  • Proper update of IT asset documents, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation
  • Adhere to change policies and all IT Operations process/procedures and Configuration item
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Desk Head, LAN, Voice & Telecoms Support.

Requirements
Education:

  • Minimum of a First Degree or its equivalent in an IT related discipline
  • Network Certifications e.g. CISCO, Voice an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Post -NYSC experience.
