Job Title: Data Centre Solutions Engineer
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
- Supporting Bid Management team and customers technically with customer offers and bids.
- Assist in the order handling from a technical perspective.
- Stay abreast of market developments and transfer basic product knowledge and market trends to KAM's peers in Solutions Engineering team and Customer Service Provides services and in-depth support to bid teams, including analysis of client requirements obtained from Accounts Managers, customers and or site visits, to produce potential solutions.
- Designs and leads initiatives that have a strategic impact on the long-term business relationship with customers.
- Responsive to industry developments and may work as industry specialist in the identification of new opportunities, shaping these into specific projects to develop offerings.
Functions of the Job
- Provides services and in-depth support to bid teams, including analysis of client requirements obtained from Accounts Managers, customers and or site visits, to produce potential solutions
- Designs and leads initiatives that have a strategic impact on the long-term business relationship with customers
- Responsive to industry developments and may work as industry specialist in the identification of new opportunities, shaping these into specific projects to develop offerings
- Analysis and identify customer requirements for complete energy solution
- Develop complete Network solutions based on existing products + 3rd party products
- Compile all necessary information regarding technical specifications, production & quality capability
- Perform product selection, configuration and dimensioning to provide best optimized solution, including when required customized product modification
- Determine installation material requirements and do cable sizing.
- Preparation of Statement of Compliance of the technical section of bids
- Interfacing with, Product Management, Customs & Specials, Engineering and supports the Bid Qualification process
- Create complete bill of material with List price and proposed price based on EMEA Pricing strategy
- Provide time estimates for new product development and complete solution delivery
- Preparation of technical product and solution descriptions that forms part of the final bid package
- Create solution drawings and site documents including K modules
- Handover new product designs to Engineering and project management
- Works closely with sales to promote complete Network solutions in both existing and new markets
- Provide complex technical sales support by attending customer meetings and perform site visits and preparing site reports
- Support product owners and sales as technical expert
Personal Specifications
- Required Minimum Education/Training
- Electrical Engineering degree
- Data Center Expertise
- Knowledge on Telecom & Datacom Infrastructure components e.g. DC Power products, Cooling Products, UPS, Monitoring and others.
- Ability to combine technical expertise and skills with adequate application engineering understanding is required
- Skilled in administration of Auto Cad
Requirements / Work Experiences:
- Min. 5 years proven experience from dimensioning and engineering power and backup solutions for the telecom & Data Center industry
- Handling MS Office and MS Projects.
- Fluent in English, Additional language is a plus.
- Availability to travel with in Africa.
