Job Description:
This role is primarily responsible for financial analysis and preparing financial transactions in compliance accounting controls and processes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standards
- Prepare financial reconciliation, raising journal entries and working papers and implementing appropriate policies, systems, procedures and practices to ensure the integrity of the general ledger and budget development systems.
- Develop and implement financial and operational policies, procedures and practices which facilitate and support financial management within the Organisation.
- Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior officers and forums on financial policy and management issues.
- Identify departmental training needs in financial accounting and management and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies and training programs to meet these needs.
Job Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any other Social Science discipline.
- A minimum of 6 years work experience of which at least 2 years should have been in similar function.
- Professional accounting certification is mandatory
- Key Competency Requirements
- Advanced financial and accounting knowledge, including in depth understanding of public sector international and Nigerian accounting standards.
- Demonstrates excellent leadership/supervisory, coaching and mentoring and people management skills.
- A hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis.
