Job Summary
  • The Project Supervisor supports and assists the Project Manager with the direct supervision of departmental/project staff including interviewing, hiring, training and performance management.
  • This individual oversees the team members in carrying out their day to day activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Schedules and assigns staff.
  • Assists Project Manager with interviewing, hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Schedules and conducts monthly trainings .
  • Schedules and conducts regular monthly 1:1 and group supervisions with staff.
  • Schedules and assists with performance management, including probationary reviews
  • Ensures project documents are safely archived following project completion.
  • Executes and monitors project activities.
  • Supervises the department/project team. Organizes and assigns tasks to each team member and ensures proper preparations are made.
  • Assists with monitoring departmental timekeeping and various leaves.
  • Communicates effectively with Project Manager and team members on status updates and issues
  • Updating staff and keeping all interested parties in the project informed of progress and any issues, which may arise.
  • Prepares and updates project plans and status reports.
  • Responsible for performing any other duty assigned by Management
  • May frequently travel between company worksites.
  • Presents a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner.
  • Reacts well under pressure. Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organisation's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Supervises assigned Project Management staff.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to successfully perform this job.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from college or university in Project Management or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in project management or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong leadership skills that include the ability to build effective project teams, ability to motivate others, delegation, and timely/quality decision making
  • Training and presentation experience is preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
Computer Skills:
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency working within specialized software utilized in program.
Language Ability:
  • English is the spoken and written language
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees and the general public.
Math Ability:
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
