Job Summary
- We require the services of a chartered Accountant / Senior Accountant to assist the Finance Manager in carrying out day-to-day accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain effective systems for financial control.
- Maintains effective systems for financial reporting; both internally and externally.
- Develop a strong financial status to boost our cash flow position.
- Everyday book keeping
- Processing of invoices and ensuring each expense is cross-checked with the corresponding invoice
- Documentation/recording of payments
- Tracking payables and receivables
- Maintaining the impress system
- Inventory Management
- Petty cash/expense management
- Bank transactions/reconciliations
- Processing refunds and resolving billing disputes
- Ensure prompt invoicing and debt collection.
- Support in the compilation, analysis and approval of global monthly budgets for management consideration.
- Prepare financial statements
- Comply with internal control procedures on a day to day basis.
- Support and review day to day work of the finance unit.
- Participates in the selection of subordinate members of the Finance team.
- Responsible for internal controls company-wide.
- Payroll administration
- PAYE and administration of other taxes and statutory payments
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.
Person Specification / Competencies
- First Degree in Accounting or related courses.
- Must be ICAN certified, minimum Associate
- 3 - 5 years’ cognate experience
- for experienced and certified accountants
- Experience in retail business is an added advantage
- Sound knowledge of accounting standards.
- Proficiency in the use of computer applications.
- Proficiency in the use of SAP is an added advantage.
- Sound numeric and MS Excel skills.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
