Job Summary

• We require the services of a chartered Accountant / Senior Accountant to assist the Finance Manager in carrying out day-to-day accounting functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective systems for financial control.
• Maintains effective systems for financial reporting; both internally and externally.
• Develop a strong financial status to boost our cash flow position.
• Everyday book keeping
• Processing of invoices and ensuring each expense is cross-checked with the corresponding invoice
• Documentation/recording of payments
• Tracking payables and receivables
• Maintaining the impress system
• Inventory Management
• Petty cash/expense management
• Bank transactions/reconciliations
• Processing refunds and resolving billing disputes
• Ensure prompt invoicing and debt collection.
• Support in the compilation, analysis and approval of global monthly budgets for management consideration.
• Prepare financial statements
• Comply with internal control procedures on a day to day basis.
• Support and review day to day work of the finance unit.
• Participates in the selection of subordinate members of the Finance team.
• Responsible for internal controls company-wide.
• Payroll administration
• PAYE and administration of other taxes and statutory payments
• Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager.

Person Specification / Competencies

• First Degree in Accounting or related courses.
• Must be ICAN certified, minimum Associate
• 3 - 5 years’ cognate experience
• for experienced and certified accountants
• Experience in retail business is an added advantage
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards.
• Proficiency in the use of computer applications.
• Proficiency in the use of SAP is an added advantage.
• Sound numeric and MS Excel skills.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
