Job Objective(s)
The role would report to Group Executive, Commercial Banking Group and would be responsible for:

  • Lead, inspire, manage, coach and develop team members to deliver on the Bank’s overall business objectives.
  • Meetthe Bank’s revenue aspirations by providing a financial business solution to the emerging Corporates sub-sector of the Nigerian economy.
  • Provide a unique combination of people management and client relationship management.

Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction in the execution of the team’s functions and activities.
  • Optimally manage and deepen relationships with new and existing customers in the target market.
  • Develop marketing strategies for the team and make appropriate recommendations to the Group Head.
  • Deliberate growth of the team’s trade transaction volumes: Form M / Letters of Credit / Bills for Collection etc.
  • Develop budgets and goals for the team and ensure budgets are met and manage resources for profitability.
  • Minimize risks within the team.
  • Identify new business opportunities and formulate strategies for retaining and winning new accounts.
  • Structureof deals and relating with co-lenders in syndication arrangements.
  • Work closely with other departments of the Bank to ensure reduced turnaround time in service rendition.
  • Periodically review and evaluate the performance of the team and ensure corrective actions to achieve.
  • Group’s strategy and annual plans.
  • Responsible for driving trade-related transactions for the bank (Fx business).
  • Ensure that the set targets of emerging corporates are met in line with guidelines and set targets.
  • Champion excellent service delivery with a view to delighting our customers.
  • Manage peculiar risks within the team. Work closely with risk management to develop suitable risk acceptance criteria (RAAC) for the Emerging Corporates market.
  • Champion the formulation and implementation of strategies, plans and programs (IFF Product Paper) for the delivery of the Bank’s products targeted at Emerging Corporates' customers and generate revenues.
  • Manage overall business relationships to maximize revenue and profit as well as manage the key performance areas of the team.

Requirements

  • First Degree or its equivalent in any discipline preferably business related
  • Minimum experience of 10 years relevant experience with at least 5 years in a management and leadership role.
  • Broad market and industry knowledge.
  • Strategic Business Planning, Credit Assessment and Structuring skills are important.
  • Excellent client relationship skills.
