INSO provides registered NGOs with a range of free services including real-time incident tracking, analytical reports, safety related data and mapping, crisis management support, staff orientations and training.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Finance Assistant (Temporary)
Location: Abuja
Job Type: Temporary
Job Summary
- This is a three-month position.
- The responsibilities of this position will be to support the Finance Manager in carrying out the day-to-day responsibilities including payment expenses, asset reconciliation, tax and payroll as well as maintaining the bookkeeping entries and filing accounting documents.
- The Finance Assistant works under the supervision of the Finance Manager in collaboration with the Finance Team.
Major Responsibilities
- Records expense incurred in Bank and Cash Book extract daily; sends to Finance officer for review.
- Ensures valid supporting document are attached before cash and bank payment are done.
- Prepares payment transfer instruction for Bank payment.
- Reconciles advance when necessary with support from Finance officer.
- Ensures proper filing of accounting document for Abuja.
- Ensures vouchers are scanned monthly for Nigeria, Niger & Cameroun and drop in the share point.
- Extracts staff National Housing Fund, Pension, WHT & PAYE Schedule and remits monthly; sends to Finance officer for review.
- Scans Maiduguri Pay slip and ensures Abuja staff sign pay slip monthly.
- Ensures proper Cash management.
- Fills in individual National Housing Fund Passbook monthly.
- Scans Maiduguri related PAYE and WHT for documentation.
- Reviews staff travel claim and make reimbursement when necessary.
- Prints monthly intercompany vouchers and file.
- Stamps monthly accountancy reviewed document in the box file.
- Stamps the Monthly Accountancy and records amount for different donors
Mandatory Qualifications
- A University Degree or advanced certificate or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required
- Advance M/S Excel experience- SUM IFs, Pivot Tables, LOOK UP functions etc.
- NGO experience is preferred.
- Accounting skills and experience in general ledger, journal entries, cash/bank management
- Excellent oral and written English Language
