Job Description
- We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled SEO Specialist to join our marketing team. As an SEO Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our online presence, driving organic traffic, and improving search engine rankings.
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and execute effective SEO strategies, monitor performance metrics, and optimize content for search engines.
- The ideal candidate is a data-driven individual with a deep understanding of SEO best practices, search engine algorithms, and a proven track record of delivering tangible results.
Responsibilities
Keyword Research and Analysis:
- Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant and high-performing keywords.
- Analyze keyword trends and search volume to inform content strategies.
On-Page SEO:
- Optimize website content, meta tags, headings, and internal linking for search engines.
- Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO-friendly content creation.
- Implement schema markup and structured data to enhance search visibility.
Technical SEO:
- Perform website audits to identify and resolve technical issues affecting SEO performance.
- Monitor and improve website speed, mobile-friendliness, and overall user experience.
- Manage XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and crawl errors.
Off-Page SEO:
- Develop and execute link-building strategies to acquire high-quality backlinks.
- Identify and engage with relevant online communities, influencers, and directories.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze website traffic, rankings, and user behavior using SEO tools.
- Prepare regular reports on SEO performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide data-driven insights to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
Stay Abreast of Industry Trends:
- Keep up-to-date with the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices.
- Proactively recommend and implement strategies to adapt to evolving search engine algorithms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 - 5 years work experience.
- Proven experience as an SEO Specialist or similar role, with a successful track record of improving organic search performance.
- In-depth knowledge of search engine algorithms, ranking factors, and technical SEO.
- Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Moz, Ahrefs, etc.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and website development principles.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and basic image editing tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- SEO certification(s) from recognized institutions.
- Experience with local SEO and e-commerce SEO.
- Familiarity with content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Joomla) and e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento).
- Basic understanding of other digital marketing channels (e.g., social media, paid search) and how they intersect with SEO.
Salary
N100,000 - N150,000 / month.
