We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Senior Carpenter (Wood Factory)
Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Qualification / Experience / Skills
- SSCE / NABTEB / Trade test Certification in Carpentry / Furniture Making or successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship.
- 3-5 years experience as carpenter
- In-depth experience in working with carpentry materials
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Vast in the use of electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Good knowledge of English
- Good understanding of basic math
- Good physical condition and endurance
- Good supervisory and leadership skills
- Applicants should possess relevant skills, qualifications and experience.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to read and follow blue print, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirement.
- Ability to measure cut and take accurate measurements and also calculate the size and amount of materials needed.
- Ability to construct lay out floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible
- Ability to carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
- Ability to inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
- Ability to build scaffolding and other construction structures.
