Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Minna, Niger

Job Description

  • As an Electrical Engineer in a pharmaceutical factory located in Minna, Nigeria, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems within the facility.
  • Your responsibilities will encompass the design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical infrastructure to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Design and Implementation:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, select, and implement electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.

Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, such as switchgear, motors, and control panels.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of problems.

Instrumentation and Control Systems:

  • Design and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure precise monitoring and control of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies for improved efficiency and quality.

Emergency Response:

  • Act as a key contributor to the emergency response team, providing technical expertise during electrical failures or emergencies.
  • Develop and implement emergency shutdown procedures for critical electrical systems.

Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:

  • Identify opportunities for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within electrical systems.
  • Implement energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce the environmental impact of the facility.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to electrical systems, schematics, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in audits as needed.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical and chemical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve interdisciplinary challenges.

Training and Development:

  • Provide training to operations and maintenance staff on the proper use, care, and maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • years of experience in a similar role within a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of local and international electrical codes, safety standards, and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
