Job Description
- As an Electrical Engineer in a pharmaceutical factory located in Minna, Nigeria, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems within the facility.
- Your responsibilities will encompass the design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical infrastructure to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, select, and implement electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, such as switchgear, motors, and control panels.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of problems.
Instrumentation and Control Systems:
- Design and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure precise monitoring and control of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies for improved efficiency and quality.
Emergency Response:
- Act as a key contributor to the emergency response team, providing technical expertise during electrical failures or emergencies.
- Develop and implement emergency shutdown procedures for critical electrical systems.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within electrical systems.
- Implement energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce the environmental impact of the facility.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to electrical systems, schematics, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in audits as needed.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical and chemical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve interdisciplinary challenges.
Training and Development:
- Provide training to operations and maintenance staff on the proper use, care, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- years of experience in a similar role within a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in electrical design software and AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of local and international electrical codes, safety standards, and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
