Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer in a pharmaceutical factory located in Minna, Nigeria, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical systems within the facility.
Your responsibilities will encompass the design, maintenance, and optimization of electrical infrastructure to support pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Systems Design and Implementation:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, select, and implement electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
Ensure compliance with local electrical codes, safety standards, and industry regulations.
Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, such as switchgear, motors, and control panels.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of problems.
Instrumentation and Control Systems:
Design and maintain instrumentation and control systems to ensure precise monitoring and control of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with process engineers to optimize control strategies for improved efficiency and quality.
Emergency Response:
Act as a key contributor to the emergency response team, providing technical expertise during electrical failures or emergencies.
Develop and implement emergency shutdown procedures for critical electrical systems.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability:
Identify opportunities for energy conservation and sustainability initiatives within electrical systems.
Implement energy-efficient technologies and practices to reduce the environmental impact of the facility.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to electrical systems, schematics, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and participate in audits as needed.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other engineering disciplines, including mechanical and chemical engineers, to ensure seamless integration of systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve interdisciplinary challenges.
Training and Development:
Provide training to operations and maintenance staff on the proper use, care, and maintenance of electrical systems.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
years of experience in a similar role within a pharmaceutical or related manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in electrical design software and AutoCAD.
Knowledge of local and international electrical codes, safety standards, and pharmaceutical industry regulations.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
