We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Verification Officer

Location: Yaba, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Confirm the ownership of the business (neighbor reference)
  • Confirm the business activity is correctly stated
  • During visitation, ensure clients' shop and business address correspond with what is documented in the file; The address verification should be comprehensive and detailed, where possible sketch how to locate said address. Things like landmarks, and popular name amongst others should be infused into report.
  • Review the value of clients’ goods in the shop/home to ensure that proper evaluation was conducted before presentation for approval
  • Is the stock sighted in the shop /home worth the loan amount disbursed?
  • Ensure that the compulsory deposits by clients are credited into their accounts. This can be done by checking clients’ accounts on bank-one before or after disbursement of the loan.
  • Compulsory deposit – 10% or 5% and 2% fee for other charges
  • During client visitation, ensure customers’ balances are confirmed with them if they are met in shops in order to possibly uncover any cash suppression perpetrated by field/collections officers
  • Confirm from delinquent customers the reason for non-repayment (delinquent loan).
  • Where necessary, obtain response of the Account officer on your findings
  • Note observations appropriately
  • Perform other task as assigned by Head, Audit & Compliance.
  • Conduct detailed background checks of champions and their guarantors
  • Timely follow-up and closure of assigned verification checks.
  • Delivery of confidential documents.
  • Ensure the champion's data and reports are complete, accurate, and consistent.
  • Conduct verification on matters entrusted within the sales team
  • Gather information and evidence through face-to-face interviews
  • Gather recorded statements and documentation
  • Organize all the collected data and information.
  • Expected to write visitation reports.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.

Must have skills:

  • High level of initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Analytical Skills

Good to have skills:

  • Strong oral and written communication

Salary
N130,000 - N150,000 / Month.
