Job Description

  • An exquisite restaurant in Ibadan is looking for competent and experienced cooks who will deliver tasty and nutritious meals to our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the workstations are set up with all essential ingredients and cooking equipment
  • Prepare ingredients needed for cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting etc.)
  • Cook meals on the menu using the appropriate recipes and processes
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh through quality inspection
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients
  • Present, garnish, and arrange final dishes
  • Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation standards and keep an orderly environment in the kitchen
  • Ensure safety procedures, including safe temperatures at which ingredients must be kept and to which food must be prepared to avoid foodborne illness
  • Supervise ingredient and meal preps alongside other kitchen activities
  • Work with the restaurant manager and storekeeper to recommend appropriate alternatives for quality ingredients
  • Train the kitchen team on all relevant kitchen procedures and document the relevant recipes.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage a team while also collaborating on complex dishes
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of other people, such as waiters, dishwashers, management, and sometimes customers
  • Calm demean our to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Accountability for the dishes prepared to measure up to the expectations of management and customers alike
  • Comprehension and organization to follow direct orders and recipes and to correctly prepare dishes to the standards of the restaurant
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle tools, such as knife techniques for chopping, slicing, cutting, and dicing
  • Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle extreme heat, and work shifts
  • Flexibility to work in shifts
  • Previous food safety training is a plus
  • Greatly understands and values hospitality
  • This is a part-time position.
  • The applicant should be available to start immediately.

Salary
N150,000 - N200,000 / month.
