We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Cook

Location: Yola, Adamawa
Employment Type: Full-time

Essential Job Responsibilities
The roles and responsibilities of the Cook includes but not limited to:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, including appetizers, entrees, desserts, and special dishes.
  • Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.
  • Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, and notifying management of any shortages or discrepancies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of equipment, utensils, and ingredients, and regular cleaning of cooking surfaces and appliances.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food orders, including coordinating with servers and other hotel staff as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Assist with menu planning and development, including suggesting new dishes, ingredients, and cooking techniques to enhance the dining experience for our guests.
  • Handle special dietary requests and accommodations with sensitivity and attention to detail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by kitchen management or hotel leadership.

Knowledge and Experience
Ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent with certifications
  • Familiarity with a variety of cuisines and dishes, with the ability to follow recipes and adapt to changing menu requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and other hotel departments.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Food handler's certification or equivalent training preferred.
  • Excellent commitment to service and teamwork
  • 5 years proven experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, or similar food service establishment.
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and methods, including grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, and broiling.
