Job Title: Terminal Clerk

Location: Iddo, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • As the Terminal Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support and coordinating day-to-day activities at our terminal facilities.
  • Your role will involve managing documentation, communicating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the smooth operation of terminal activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage terminal documentation, including bills of lading, cargo manifests, delivery receipts, and other related paperwork.
  • Coordinate with vessel operators, trucking companies, customs agents, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate processing of cargo.
  • Input data into terminal management systems and maintain accurate records of cargo movements, inventory levels, and terminal activities.
  • Communicate with port authorities, terminal operators, and regulatory agencies to obtain permits, clearances, and approvals as needed.
  • Provide assistance and support to terminal staff, including dockworkers, stevedores, and equipment operators, as required.
  • Respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, and other parties regarding terminal operations, schedules, and cargo status.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence for management, summarizing terminal performance, activities, and issues.
  • Monitor terminal equipment and facilities for maintenance and repair needs, coordinating with maintenance staff to address issues promptly.

Requirements

  • HND, BSc,or equivalent; additional education or training in business administration or logistics (preferred).
  • Proven experience in administrative support roles, preferably in the maritime industry or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and software, including MS Office suite and terminal management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of terminal operations, cargo handling procedures, and maritime regulations (preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, and adapt to changing operational requirements.

Salary
N70,000 - N90,000 Monthly.
