Position Summary
  • We need a Business Development Officer who can serve as an expert on tasks, delivering them within specified time and defined expectation ; maintaining records and documentation.
Position Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of tasks associated with the achievement of the business goals
  • Strong focus on the economics and profitability of production or the services rendered
  • Ensures all Tasks related to Specializations and Functions are duely, regularly and comprehensively completed
  • Ensures compliance to all laid down policies of the company identifying where amendments and provisions are needed for enhancements
  • Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database.
  • Conduct Market research to gain competitive intelligence, market trends and consumer insight
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post, telephone, and personal visits.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with Business Development Manager.
  • Monitor and report on sales activities and provide relevant management information.
  • Work with a team responsible for strategic market analysis to drive market sales.
  • Develop company products and services for target segment
  • Responsible Client Service and Fulfillment; resolve clients complaints in a timely and professional fashion.
  • Ensured that all orders are carried out to specifications and in a timely manner
  • Assists the marketing department with advertising materials/ campaigns for business development functions.
  • Invoice and recover from clients all a mounts owing to the company to be paid in full or in tranches immediately they become due and payable
  • Issuing and f following up on all these invoices issued to customers ensuring they are paid within cycle timeframes
  • Ensure filing & sorting of all these document s related and prior to billing the invoices
  • Obtains the necessary approval for due invoices and validate them against contract requirement

Qualifications (Experience, Knowledge & Skills)
Qualification:
  • B.Sc/HND in Engineering and/or Marketing
  • Must have reputable professional certification in related function and industry
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of Marketing experience with large project experience in C construction , Oil and Power Industries
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledgeable in contractual matters and formulating correspondence
  • Ability to u se appropriate techniques for recording and documentation of information including registration of interest, preparation of bills of quantities and analysis of tenders
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and experience of contract structures and documentation.
  • Understand the provisions of the standard forms of contract and sub-contract commonly in use in the engineering industry
  • Ability to apply understanding of the company & industry to improve effectiveness & profitability.
Competence:
  • Proficiency in MS Office, advance use of MS Excel; willingness to participate in a team-oriented environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and familiar with ERP Solutions and with competencies in Project Management, Microsoft Office Suite. Technically strong in project cost planning, scheduling and reporting.
