Job Title: Cook / Steward

Job Description

  • We are seeking a skilled and reliable Cook/Steward to join our team in Awe, Oyo State. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen.
  • The Cook/Steward will work collaboratively to ensure customer satisfaction by delivering delicious and fresh meals in line with specifications and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation and Cooking:

  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh and meet quality standards.
  • Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients accurately.
  • Prepare meals using various cooking methods such as baking, grilling, steaming, boiling, and frying.

Presentation and Service:

  • Present, garnish, and arrange dishes attractively.
  • Serve food promptly and accommodate guests' special requests.

Workstation and Equipment Maintenance:

  • Set up and maintain workstations with required ingredients and equipment.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers.

Food Safety and Hygiene:

  • Handle and store food safely, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, including utensils, equipment, and dishes.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.

Inventory and Procedures:

  • Monitor station inventory levels and report shortages promptly.
  • Execute opening and closing procedures in the kitchen.
  • Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an SSCE / NECO qualification with 2 years experience
  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role.
  • Familiarity with various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and creativity in food presentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidates must be willing to adhere to company standards and guidelines, including food safety and cleanliness protocols.
