Job Title: Principal Sales Officer

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary

  • The Principal Sales Officer is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key client relationships, and executing strategic sales initiatives. 
  • This role requires a highly motivated sales professional with a proven track record in business development, market penetration, and closing high-value deals. 
  • The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to mentor junior sales staff.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and markets for expansion.
  • Maintain a robust pipeline of high-value prospects and drive deal closures.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:

  • Build and manage relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Conduct presentations, negotiations, and contract finalizations.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and maintain high client retention rates.

Sales Performance & Reporting:

  • Track sales performance against set targets and provide regular reports.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to refine sales tactics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance sales effectiveness.

Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Mentor junior sales staff and support team development.
  • Foster a high-performance sales culture within the team.
  • Collaborate with marketing, finance, and operations teams for seamless execution.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Revenue Growth: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Client Acquisition Rate: Increase the number of new high-value clients.
  • Conversion Rate: Improve lead-to-customer conversion efficiency.
  • Customer Retention Rate: Maintain and grow existing client relationships.
  • Market Expansion: Successfully penetrate new markets or industries.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree or relevant sales certification (e.g., CIM, ISM) is an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-8 years of sales experience, preferably in [industry-specific experience].
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience in B2B or B2C sales, depending on the company’s focus.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
