Job Title: Supermarket Supervisor

Location: Lagos 

Job Summary

  • We are seeking to hire a committed and efficient Supermarket Supervisor to provide strong leadership and hands-on supervision to cashiers and sales attendants.
  • The ideal candidate should be passionate about enforcing high standards of staff behavior, ensuring teamwork, and creating a positive, customer-friendly atmosphere while supporting smooth store operations.
  • The Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the supermarket, ensuring excellent customer service, optimal inventory levels, and a clean, organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cashiers, sales attendants, and other front-line staff to ensure discipline, professionalism, and excellent customer service at all times.
  • Set clear expectations for staff behavior, punctuality, grooming, and work ethics, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure shelves are properly stocked, displays are neat, and the sales floor is clean and organized.
  • Oversee cash handling processes, monitor point-of-sale activities, and ensure accuracy in transactions.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist in restocking, and support periodic stock counts.
  • Address customer complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train new staff and provide on-the-job guidance for team members.
  • Handle emergency situations or incidents efficiently and report accordingly.
  • Prepare and submit shift reports to management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of HND, or a Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within a supermarket or retail setting is preferre.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to correct, discipline, and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Organization, communication and relationship management skills.
  • Professional, client-service-oriented, and positive representative of the organization.
  • Proximity will be considered.
  • Candidates who reside at Jakande, Agungi, Ilasan and environs will be preferred.

Salary
N150,000 Monthly.
