Job Description
- We are seeking a talented and committed Sous Chef to join our culinary team.
- The ideal candidate will support the Head Chef in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, maintaining food quality, and supervising staff.
- This role requires culinary creativity, strong leadership, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations and meal preparation
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and productivity
- Ensure all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for taste, quality, and presentation
- Manage inventory, ordering, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies
- Enforce strict hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety protocols
- Train, mentor, and evaluate junior kitchen staff
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure timely and seamless service
- Monitor kitchen equipment and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness
- Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food cost control
- Report kitchen performance updates and concerns to the Head Chef.
Requirements
- OND, HND, or Degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, or a related field (preferred)
- 3 - 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent culinary knowledge, including modern cooking techniques and food safety standards
- Ability to perform under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Keen eye for detail and high standards of food presentation
- Strong communication and time-management abilities
- Professional demeanor and neat personal appearance
- Must reside in Abuja (preferably close to or within Wuse 2).
