Job Overview

  • The General Manager will oversee the daily operations, financial performance, guest experience, and overall management of the shortlet apartment business.
  • This role requires a blend of hospitality expertise, property management, sales/marketing skills, and operational excellence to ensure high occupancy rates, profitability, and superior guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of all shortlet properties, ensuring apartments are well-maintained, clean, and guest-ready at all times.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, SOPs, and checklists to maintain service quality.
  • Supervise housekeeping, maintenance, and support staff to ensure timely service delivery.

Guest Relations:

  • Ensure seamless guest experiences from booking to check-out.
  • Handle guest complaints, feedback, and special requests promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain high ratings across booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.).

Financial & Business Management:

  • Drive revenue through pricing strategies, occupancy optimization, and cost management.
  • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports, and KPIs (occupancy rate, revenue per available room, guest satisfaction scores, etc.).
  • Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and service contracts.

Sales & Marketing:

  • Develop marketing strategies to attract new guests and retain repeat clients.
  • Manage online listings across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with digital marketers to boost visibility through social media, SEO, and ads.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise team members including front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance staff.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to staff.
  • Foster a customer-first culture across the organization.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee security protocols for guest and property safety.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s is a plus).
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in hospitality, hotel management, serviced apartments, or shortlet operations.
  • Strong understanding of property management systems, booking platforms (Airbnb, Booking.com, etc.), and hospitality trends.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service abilities.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and revenue management.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
