Job Description
- The Senior HR Officer is responsible for providing strategic and operational HR support across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, HRIS management, and compliance.
- The role ensures HR policies are effectively implemented and contributes to building a positive work culture that aligns with the company’s goals.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Management:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment and selection processes.
- Prepare job adverts, shortlist candidates, and coordinate interviews.
- Support talent pipeline development and succession planning.
- Oversee onboarding and orientation programs for new hires.
Employee Relations & Engagement:
- Serve as first point of contact for employee HR-related inquiries.
- Handle employee complaints, conflict resolution, and grievance procedures.
- Support initiatives to promote a positive work environment.
- Conduct periodic employee engagement surveys and follow up on action plans.
Performance Management:
- Coordinate and support performance appraisal processes.
- Work with managers to set targets, evaluate outcomes, and drive improvements.
- Identify performance gaps and recommend development plans.
HR Administration & Compliance:
- Maintain accurate HR records, HRIS data, payroll inputs, and documentation.
- Ensure policies, procedures, and practices comply with labor laws.
- Track leave, attendance, disciplinary records, and contract renewals.
- Prepare HR reports and analytics for management decision-making.
Learning & Development:
- Identify training needs in line with performance outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate internal/external training sessions.
- Track training participation and effectiveness.
Policy Development:
- Contribute to the review and update of HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective communication and implementation across departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or related field.
- 4 – 7 years progressive HR experience.
- Professional certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD, or equivalent) is a strong advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian employment laws and HR best practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HR Information Systems (HRIS).
