Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Executive Chef / Head Chef to lead the culinary direction of a new restaurant opening in Karu, Abuja.
  • This senior leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 7–19 years of hands-on culinary and kitchen management experience, capable of building world-class kitchen operations from the ground up.
  • As the Executive Chef / Head Chef, you will have full responsibility for menu creation, kitchen leadership, food quality, cost control, and staff development.
  • You will set the culinary vision of the restaurant and ensure consistent delivery of exceptional dining experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute a signature menu that defines the restaurant’s culinary identity
  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, consistency, and excellence
  • Establish standard recipes, portion controls, plating guidelines, and kitchen SOPs
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, building a high-performing team
  • Oversee food costing, inventory management, procurement, and waste reduction
  • Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations
  • Monitor kitchen performance and continuously improve quality and productivity
  • Collaborate with management on budgeting, pricing strategies, and business growth
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and introduce innovative menu updates when appropriate

Requirements

  • 7 – 10years of proven experience as a Chef, with senior-level kitchen leadership experience
  • Strong expertise in menu development, culinary innovation, and kitchen management
  • In-depth knowledge of food costing, inventory control, and operational efficiency
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-demand environment
  • Passion for excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement.
