Job Title: Pastry & Cakes Supervisor

Location: Benin City / Ugbowo, Edo
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Pastry & Cakes Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the pastry section in our restaurant.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervising pastry staff, ensuring product quality, maintaining hygiene standards, and contributing to the creation of innovative and delicious baked goods.
  • This role requires both leadership and hands-on baking expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of pastry chefs, bakers, and kitchen assistants
  • Oversee the preparation, baking, and presentation of pastries, cakes, and desserts
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and appearance of all baked goods
  • Develop new recipes and seasonal dessert menus in collaboration with the head chef
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ordering of baking supplies and ingredients
  • Enforce hygiene, food safety, and sanitation standards in the pastry section
  • Train and mentor junior staff on baking techniques and kitchen protocols
  • Maintain production schedules and ensure timely delivery of orders
  • Handle customer feedback and ensure satisfaction with pastry offerings
  • Collaborate with management on pricing, portion control, and cost management.

Requirements

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry, or related field
  • Additional training in food safety and kitchen management is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in a professional pastry kitchen
  • At least 1 – 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role within a bakery or restaurant setting
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality pastries and managing kitchen operations.

  • Competitive Salary: N60,000 - N70,000 / month based on experience and qualifications
