Job Title: Product Manager

Location: Lagos 
Employment Type: Full-time
Work Structure: Office-based with intensive regional travel
Reports To: Head of Field Development – Nigeria & West Africa

Role Summary

  • The Product Manager will lead the strategic planning, positioning, lifecycle management, and execution of the company’s product portfolio in Nigeria.
  • The role ensures that products remain market-relevant, scientifically credible, and fully compliant with regulatory standards, while being effectively supported through training, resource development, and strong engagement with distributors and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management:

  • Define and execute product strategies aligned with regional and local business objectives.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle from concept development and launch to optimisation and phase-out.
  • Conduct continuous market, consumer, and competitor analysis to support data-driven product decisions.
  • Monitor product performance, market penetration, and feedback, and recommend improvements or enhancements.
  • Lead product launches and go-to-market initiatives, including positioning, messaging, and field enablement.

Product Knowledge, Training & Field Support:

  • Serve as the product subject matter expert for the Nigeria product portfolio.
  • Respond to product-related enquiries from distributors via phone, email, and other communication channels.
  • Deliver product knowledge training for distributors and internal teams to support sales and field development efforts.
  • Facilitate presentations and public speaking engagements focused on product benefits and education.
  • Attend meetings, seminars, and industry events within the health, nutrition, supplements, and cosmetics space to stay current with industry trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Distributor Relations, Supply Chain, and other relevant teams to ensure effective product support and compliance.
  • Support regional initiatives and collaborate with West Africa and broader regional teams as required.

Product Resources & Information Management:

  • Develop, update, and maintain product literature, training materials, and educational resources.
  • Manage the local Product Resource Centre, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and accessibility of information.
  • Source relevant scientific articles and industry insights to support product positioning and education.
  • Maintain product databases, subscriptions, reference materials, and information archives.
  • Set up and manage databases to support product and information management activities.

Reporting, Administration & Projects:

  • Compile and submit timely reports on product performance, training activities, and support initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and filing systems related to product activities.
  • Use IT systems and digital tools effectively for reporting, analysis, and communication.
  • Manage special projects and assignments as delegated by management.
  • Ensure timely execution of responsibilities and submission of required deliverables.

Measures of Success

  • Growth in product sales, contribution value, and market penetration.
  • Successful and timely execution of product launches.
  • High levels of distributor and customer product knowledge and satisfaction.
  • Effective resolution of product-related enquiries.
  • Strong regulatory compliance and quality adherence.
  • Positive collaboration and feedback from internal and field stakeholders.

Education & Experience

  • Degree or diploma in Nutrition, Dietetics, Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in product management, marketing, sales support, or a related commercial role.
  • Experience in nutrition, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or direct selling/network marketing will be an advantage.
  • Sales and marketing experience is an added advantage.
  • Public relations or communications qualification is desirable.
  • Valid driver’s licence is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet-based tools.
  • Ability to compile, manage, and analyse product and business data.
  • Strong database management, information handling, and reporting skills.
