Job Summary

  • We are seeking a competent and experienced Logistics Controller to manage our logistics and fleet operations.
  • The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience within the Nigerian oil & gas environment, with strong exposure to onshore project logistics, fleet management, and regulatory compliance.
  • This role is critical to supporting project execution by ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of equipment, materials, and personnel across project locations nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and control logistics operations for articulated trucks, cranes, lowbeds, flatbeds, and support vehicles across our project sites.
  • Manage fleet scheduling, routing, and utilization to support oil & gas construction and maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization to and from project sites, including swamp and remote locations where applicable.
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment have valid NUPRC permits, vehicle licenses, roadworthiness, insurance, and statutory documentation.
  • Monitor preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Track fuel consumption, trip logs, driver performance, and logistics costs; prepare weekly and monthly logistics reports.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, company safety policies, and client-specific logistics requirements.
  • Coordinate third-party transporters, operators, and equipment vendors in line with Nigerian contracting practices.
  • Conduct route surveys, risk assessments, and movement planning for oversized and heavy cargo.
  • Investigate logistics incidents, delays, breakdowns, or near-misses and prepare incident reports.
  • Maintain accurate fleet records, asset registers, and movement documentation in line with audit requirements.
  • Work closely with project managers, procurement, operations, and HSE teams to optimize logistics performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics & Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
  • 4 – 6 years’ relevant experience in logistics or fleet management within the oil & gas sector.
  • Proven experience managing articulated vehicles, cranes, lowbeds, flatbeds, and heavy-duty trucks.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian oil & gas project logistics, site operations, and contractor coordination.
  • Good working knowledge of NUPRC regulations, Nigerian road transport laws, and oil & gas industry requirements.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE practices, including toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Professional certifications such as CILT, PMP, NEBOSH, or HSE Level 3 will be a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, and basic fleet management systems.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight project deadlines, and travel to project locations as required.
