Overall Purpose of the Role
- The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing effective marketing and sales strategies for the company’s polythene and plastic products.
- The role focuses on expanding market share, strengthening brand presence, driving revenue growth, and maintaining strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key customers.
- The Marketing Manager ensures that company products remain competitive, visible, and aligned with customer needs while supporting the organization’s overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities / Principal Accountabilities
Marketing Strategy and Business Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and sales strategies for polythene products in line with company goals.
- Identify new markets, customers, and distribution channels to expand product reach and increase market penetration.
- Conduct market research to analyze customer needs, competitor activities, pricing trends, and industry developments.
- Recommend product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to improve competitiveness.
- Support the introduction of new products and product variations based on market demand.
Sales Management and Revenue Growth:
- Drive sales growth by setting targets and monitoring performance against agreed sales objectives.
- Manage and supervise the sales and marketing team, including field marketers and distributors.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, wholesalers, and dealers.
- Negotiate sales contracts, pricing agreements, and supply terms in collaboration with management.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and manage customer credit in coordination with finance/accounts.
Branding, Promotion, and Communication:
- Plan and execute promotional campaigns, trade promotions, and brand visibility activities.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing materials and customer touch-points.
- Represent the company at trade fairs, exhibitions, and industry events.
- Coordinate advertising, merchandising, and customer engagement initiatives.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels and address complaints or feedback promptly and professionally.
- Work closely with production and logistics teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery to customers.
- Maintain accurate customer and sales records, forecasts, and market intelligence reports.
Reporting and Performance Monitoring:
- Prepare regular sales and marketing reports, forecasts, and performance analysis for management review.
- Track marketing expenditure and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Evaluate marketing campaigns and sales strategies, adjusting plans based on performance data and market trends.
Compliance and Organizational Support:
- Ensure all marketing and sales activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
- Support the company’s strategic objectives by aligning marketing initiatives with overall business plans.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional marketing certification will be an added advantage.
- 5–8 years relevant experience in marketing or sales, preferably within a manufacturing or plastic/polythene company.
- Proven track record of achieving sales growth and market expansion.

- Strong understanding of the manufacturing and FMCG / industrial products market, especially polythene and plastic products.
- Proven ability to develop and execute effective marketing and sales strategies.
