Description
- The Young Talent Program - Consumer Lending is designed to attract, develop, and groom high-potential graduates into future Consumer Lending professionals.
- The program provides structured training, on-the-job learning, and exposure to retail credit operations, risk assessment, sales, collections, and portfolio management.
- Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in loan origination, credit analysis, customer acquisition, and loan recovery within the consumer finance segment.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Sales & Customer Acquisition:
- Identify and onboard new retail customers for personal loans, salary advances, asset financing, and SME retail products.
- Generate leads through direct sales, digital platforms, and referrals.
- Explain loan features, interest rates, repayment terms, and documentation requirements.
Credit Assessment Support:
- Assist in reviewing loan applications and supporting documents.
- Conduct basic credit analysis and affordability assessments.
- Verify employment details and income documentation.
Loan Processing & Documentation:
- Ensure complete and accurate loan documentation.
- Liaise with credit, operations, and compliance teams for loan approvals.
- Maintain proper record-keeping and file management.
Portfolio Monitoring & Collections:
- Monitor loan repayment schedules.
- Follow up with customers on overdue payments.
- Support early-stage collections and recovery strategies.
Risk & Compliance:
- Adhere to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure KYC (Know Your Customer) compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards.
Program Structure:
- Classroom training on credit fundamentals and consumer lending.
- Job rotation across sales, credit risk, operations, and collections.
- Performance-based assessment and confirmation after probation.
- Mentorship from senior lending professionals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- 0 – 2 years experience (NYSC members may apply).
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Target-driven and result-oriented.
- Basic understanding of financial statements is an advantage.
